RENOVATION - SERAPOOL Porcelain
with Serapool porcelain tiles, opting for simpler and more natural tones in line with contemporary aesthetic sensibilities. The addition of a wide ramp to the pool also enhanced user comfort and accessibility. Novum Garden Hotel At Novum Garden Hotel, the existing pool, which was built in 2005 with 5x5 cm Serapool mosaics, was renovated in 2025 with Serapool porcelain tiles in line with changing functional needs and space expansions. During the renovation process, new additions were made to the pool, and the patterns and product selections were redesigned to be compatible with the new usage areas. This project clearly demonstrates what renovation means to me: not erasing the design, but adapting it to the present time. A Signature Beyond Trends Tosun pointed out that trends are constantly changing; naturalness, simplicity, and local motifs may be prominent today but could be replaced by something else tomorrow, emphasizing that originality is what lasts: “I always shape my projects according to the spirit of the space, the user profile, and the business needs. Over the years, my design approach has evolved into a distinctive signature in my projects: pool designs that evoke a sense of the sea, natural and curved entrances, islands, seating areas in the water, and bridges over the pool... Today, some investors specifically request these details.” Future Pool Trends Sharing his predictions on upcoming trends and renovation approaches for the coming years, Tosun concluded: “Looking ahead, I see natural textures, simple surfaces, and monochromatic solutions taking center stage. However, design is never solely about trends. Geography, culture, user habits, and the spirit of the space will always be decisive factors. Design is an endless journey for me. This journey is always forward; there is no going back.” 17 INTERVIEW In the design process, I conceptualize the pool as a metaphor for the sea, with its beach, enriched with islands, offering different depths and areas of use. The user moves around the space, stops, sits, finds shade, socializes, and relaxes. The pool is not the center of a single function, but of a multi- layered experience. “ ” Akra Fethiye The Residence
